I have finally made a short, and not great, video of Buffy, our new addition to the family.
A good laugh to start the day

Is starting to be a habit. Probably a good habit. I got up and fed dogs, cats and made coffee. I walked out to the barn to check on the goats and chickens and to turn on the radio and get Buffy the Coyote Slayer's puppy food.
Beautiful, beautiful sky. Lots of stars, no moon. And then I heard a bunch of absolutely bone-chilling sounds coming from the woods. I have no idea what it was. I'm hoping not a cougar or bobcat. That would be very bad. The sounds were not from owls or coyotes, I don't know. Maybe I'll go look for paw prints later today.
We have a lovely praying mantis watching for bugs in the barn. I told him he was welcome to over-winter here and get rid of insects! Not too sure he understood. If he is out there later, I'll get a picture of him.
Oh, speaking of pictures, I have to put together a video of Buffy. She is so cute that she looks like a huge stuffed dog.
She is a challenge to train, though. I think she finally understands that she has to protect the chickens, ducks, guineas and goats, not chase them!
I will continue working on my new hen house today. I am starting to put the floor on over the base. The instructions are a little unclear on Step 5. I'm building the 8x14 model, can't figure out why I'm supposed to cut the floor one inch shorter than the base - do I lay it out leaving 1/2 inch of the base all around or what? If anyone knows, please tell me!
Okay, I can hear Hal - he has to eat separately because he has very expensive food for his bladder condition - he wants out of his dining room (our bathroom).
Have a great Friday, all!
This mornings after debate debate on KMBZ

Wow, I got into a huge argument with KJ during our debate discussion this morning. He and I are so far apart when it comes to personal responsibility and healthcare and mortgages, etc.
And to top that off, they took pictures today, and posted them on the KMBZ website - I thought radio was non-visual, so I look like hell, but if you wish to download the podcast or look at the pictures - go here.

Got up extra early to take care of critters before heading off to KMBZ radio.
I'll be on from 8 to 9 with the rest of the listener panel to discuss the debates.
I thought that McCain had more substance, and Obama spent a lot of time just talking in circles, but neither of them really impressed me much. Certainly not a performance that would change anyone's mind for either candidate.
This election has been going on for over 2 years. It's ridiculous. The open primary system in many states has allowed weak candidates on both sides to get the nominations for President. A minority of voters are going to primaries, and we end up with a wacko left wing Senator vs a Republican Senator who doesn't seem to understand freedom of speech (McCain Feingold).
Ugh. I honestly wish that Sarah Palin was running for President.
Alpha Omega?

Remember that video of the boys chanting Alpha Omega and then chanting about Obama being the reason for everything?
It is here.
Anyway, today, I find out that video was made in a Kansas City, Missouri PUBLIC Charter School! Not even a high school, but a MIDDLE SCHOOL!
I'm pissed.
The Kansas City, Missouri School District has been an awful mess and an embarrassment for decades. The School Board is perennially unable to do anything to educate the children there. They continue to be voted into office by people who were apparently educated in the Kansas City School District, because they have apparently learned nothing!!!!
The teacher, whose name is not being released by the school, has been suspended - but, this fascist display of Obamadoration cannot be undone, and should warn everyone of how wacked many of Obama's supporters are - not all, but many.
I am SO GLAD I no longer live in Kansas City.
Ya think??????????/

Obama May Have Overstated Role in State Ethics Reform
Barack Obama likes to give himself star billing for his role in enacting ethics reforms in Illinois a decade ago, but he didn't act alone."When I was in Illinois, I passed the toughest ethics reform in 25 years there, despite the opposition of Democrats and Republicans," the Democratic presidential candidate told a New Hampshire audience last month.
In fact, Obama was part of an ensemble that negotiated the legislation and built support for it. And the ethics bill passed by lopsided margins of 52-4 in the Senate and 102-3 in the House, although its riskier moments came earlier during those behind-the-scene negotiations that Obama was heavily involved in.
