OMG! Look at this stupid Bailout Bill!
The Economic Stabilization Act is full of crap! Did you have any idea that there are all kinds of energy incentives in there?
Look at part of the index of this giant bill:
Carbon Mitigation and Coal Provisions
Sec. 111. Expansion and modification of advanced coal project investment credit.
Sec. 112. Expansion and modification of coal gasification investment credit.
Sec. 113. Temporary increase in coal excise tax; funding of Black Lung Disability
Trust Fund.
Sec. 114. Special rules for refund of the coal excise tax to certain coal producers
and exporters.
Sec. 115. Tax credit for carbon dioxide sequestration.
Sec. 116. Certain income and gains relating to industrial source carbon dioxide
treated as qualifying income for publicly traded partnerships.
Sec. 117. Carbon audit of the tax code.
And that is just the beginning - stuff that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH THE DAMNED BAILOUT is all over this bill!!

At this point all we can do is flood congress's phones and emails telling them Hell No once again - and tell them why.

Stuff wasn't added to the bailout plan. The bailout plan was added as an amendment to the stuff. All spending bills originate in the House. The House had passed a bill with the other stuff in it and the Senate decided to attach the bailout as an amendment, which means the bill goes back to the House for a re-vote.
Nice bit of political skullduggery there.

Oh and let's not forget about Section 205: Resource Advisory Committee. This section would create an advisory committee,to be comprised of among many other special interests...
