Farms are a lot of work!
I can see that I will never want for something to do out here :)
I finally got the 500 gallon milk tank out of the milk room in the barn. Yeah, there is a hole in the wall, and I will have some odd things hanging from the ceiling, but after cleaning the floor and walls of that room for the past few days, I think I should be able to start moving my artsy stuff in there.
I have a radio there so I can have some background music or listen to talk radio, and John said something about getting a surplus desk for that room so I can keep all the paperwork for the goats and for my egg sales there.
The goats are becoming more and more friendly. My friends Robin, Wendy and Robin's son, Richard, helped me shear Belle and Horus. I still have 3 goats to shear, so I need to get everyone together as soon as the weather dries up a bit.
We have had quite a lot of rain for the past few days - partly due to Ike, and the ground is saturated. Unfortunately, that means the water gets into the barn from under the side door, and it is a MESS in there, more cleaning!
So, that's what I've been up to. How is everyone else doing?

Too bad you don't live closer, there were two desks and a cabinet on the sidewalk at the corner church with big FREE signs on them. They'd have been perfect workspaces for you.

We finally finished building our long retaining wall on the back of the house -abot 65 feet long and mostly 6 or 7 blocks high. The blocks are a beast for me at 50 pounds a piece - and the Hubster did most of the heavy lifting. But the steps down (of blocks) from the walk-out basement to the next level are all mine ;-)
Now it can rain all it wants to this winter - we are set! Weird that you folks have had far more rain in the past month than we have.
