Allergic reactions to antibiotics suck!

So I had a really bad sore throat for about 10 days. Last Monday, I went in to see the doctor about it. He said my throat was extremely red, but he did not see infection, but since it had gone on for 10 days, he put me on one round of antibiotics - Azithromycin 5 Day Dose Pack. It seemed to be working well.

But then, I got a rash. By Saturday morning, I had itchy, bumpy skin over probably 25 % of my body. And I mean itchy! Fortunately, I was able to get in to see the doctor. He said I am allergic to Azithromycin, and because it is a 5 day pack, I'm going to have the allergic symtoms for the full 10 days that the drug stays in my system. He did give me a shot of cortisone in my butt, so my lips no longer look like I had collagen injections, but the rashes are persistent.

Ow, ow, ow, scratch, ow, itch!

I know that this is not karma for John's gout. This is just one of life's little bumps in the road.

By the way, you will ALWAYS be allergic to Zithromax from here on out.

We've got your back, you're in our prayers.

Yep, Zithromax is pretty potent and many people react badly to it. Hope you're taking some Benadryl or Atarax for that itching.

Feel better soon, my friend!

GoldBond anti-itch spray may help. They make good stuff.
