I feel a rant coming on | Main | Why I'm not posting much

Getting paid for doing something you love is pretty cool!

I have been using Exposure Manager dot com as my repository for photos for several years. They have a very nice thingie bopper that allows you to set up a gallery of photos for sale.
Well, my friend, DaGoddess, talked me into entering a contest and in doing that, I saw one of the sponsors, Photoshelter.com. So I checked out their web site, and they are a seller of stock photos as well as selling space for pics. Well, I thought maybe some of my pictures might be good enough for their collection, so I submitted 9 photos.

They accepted one! Not the one I thought they would like, but a super closeup of a wasp - go figure!

So now they will market it, and I have the rights to submit more photos to them. Yay! Since they liked the wasp, I went out today and took pictures of more insects. See if those are any good.

I hope I can make some money with my photography, I'm not doing so great with the farmer's market and vegetables - our weather has totally sucked! Rain, rain, rain and more rain. Punctuated by incredibly humid hot days. Ugh.

Anyway, I'm thrilled.

You do have a knack for it. As to help in selling what you make, try food preservation techniques like dehydration, canning, dry packing etc. or see if a local restaurant will buy your stuff.

Love yer critters. Are you going to sell to handspinners?

Congrats! I'm so proud of you, Beth!

I entered the contest as well, but sort of chickened out on the images I submitted. (I'm kicking myself repeatedly) However, I just entered another competition with a very strong image and am holding my breath.

Maybe I should follow your example and start looking at the stock photography option.

I'm sooooooooo proud of your work being accepted. You rock, chica!
