Does anyone remember the Mamas and the Papas? Back when I was in high school, they were very big! Well, Mama Cass was always very big, but my friends and I loved, loved, loved their music.
Mimi Horning, Maryann Pernoud, Laurie Lamberton and Melinda (who's last name I forgot) and I would all sing to the record - in harmony. We were very good! We also sang the Temptations and the Supremes and the Turtles - if any of them read this, I'm sure they remember!

California Dreamin' is one of my favourite songs, I love the harmony in it. Bit before my time though, seeing as I was born in '73 :P

I loved the Mamas and the Papas - great harmony is always wonderful. Same reason I enjoy Manhatten Transfer, and loved Abba in their time. I sang in the choir, not that great, but enjoyed myself, and I still sing along when listening ... especially in the car!

I always confuse them with Peter, Paul, and Mary, whom I liked better anyway.
"Puff, the Magic Dragon" was really cool.

P.s. Mary was a "Big Girl", too.
