Malibu Burning
I'm sorry - this will make me sound like a cold, mean woman, and maybe I am. But ... I am switching from one news station to another and they are all so, so upset about movie stars possibly losing their homes. They are absolutely gushing about how awful it is.
Of course it is awful, but of all the people in the country who would suffer losses from a fire, the rich and famous movie stars are the ones who can recover from fires - they have millions of dollars and all kinds of insurance.
The news channels never gush about how awful it is when normal people lose their homes to fire.
It's the same on CNN and FOX and MSNBC, etc. A pox on all their houses!

The local stations have barely mentioned the celebs. More talk of Pepperdine University, the Presbyterian church that burned to the ground and a CVS pharmacy that was on fire.

I care about lives first and property second. Celebs can recover far more easily. bugger them!

As a Californian, you are forgiven.
No need for Confession, penance, or any type of genuflecting. It's just the way it is. The stupid thing is the stupidity is pugnacious. Fires come in and burn these out in the wild homes down frequently(nobody remembers the Laguna-Malibu fires of the mid-90s apparently, oh, and in Feb prepare to hear about massive mudslides out there), then they bitch about it and how the 'gov't didn't do enough to protect them', sue, and then they rebuild----only to have it burn again in 10 years or so. No shame in calling stupidity what it is SWWBO.
