I made one for John of Arrgghhh! | Main | Today is catch up day

June 1, 2007

Well, we did it.

We made an offer on the farm. On our way to meet our buyers' agent, we saw a rainbow. Hope that means they will accept our offer. I'm terribly afraid to get too excited in case they don't accept the offer, or if something bad comes out in the inspection.

I am crossing my fingers and saying my prayers- I have wanted to live on a farm for as long as I can remember. There will be work to be done - the fences need repair, and we will need a safe pasture area for the horses before we move them over to what will hopefully be our new home.

We will have to figure out an awful lot of logistics. And, we will probably hire an architect to tell us where to put up walls in the basement for John's museum and what walls we can knock out upstairs to enlarge the master bedroom.

We are going to have to winnow out a lot of our stuff. We have way too much stuff. John kinda figured that we will move only what we want to keep to the farm, and what we don't want - well, GARAGE SALE time!

Oh, fingers and toes crossed for you both!

I hope you're wearing sandals, Janette - otherwise that sounds uncomfortable!

Oh, and trails to be marked, stalls to be built, sites to be named...

Perhaps most important...

Thanks, Mom. It wouldn't have happened without you.

Except that it couldn't happen until you were gone.

It's just not fair.

Sweet! Hopefully y'all get it - farm life is so much better than city-livin'.

Finding a new house that you really want (as opposed to what base assigns you or what will fit in with commutes and schools, etc.) is a great thing..

'Cept for the moving part.

Congrats!!!

Thanks, Carrie! Now, we wait to see if they accept our offer - they ought to - full offer with only a couple of small strings attached.

Hope you get it! I've wanted to live on a farm... pretty much since I left it! LOL!
Crossing my fingers!

Well, at least they finally put a Starbuck's in this town. Otherwise, now that you're moving, I'd really hate this place.

So whereabouts are you moving? Emrack is pushing me to visit him in KCMO, and I've told him if I do we have to figure in time for me to hook up with youse guys.

Kate and Triticale - we are not moving all that far away - about 10 or so miles from here - in Easton Kansas off 211th and Dakota Drive. We would love to meet you, Triticale, and Kate - we would love to see you again.

That's not far away at all! This makes it so much easier to be happy for you, rather than feeling sorry for myself.

But I'm still glad about that Starbuck's.

Yeah, I stopped by there one morning last week and added about 1000 calories to my day - but damn, it was good!
