Well, this explains it! | Main | Damn. No car for me!

Life has been kinda busy

I was in Dallas this week, well, actually Plano. I was shadowing a co-worker to learn the new software I'm going to be implementing - IBMWebSphere.

My co-worker, Megan, was teaching the clients how to do an install and set up all the configuration stuff, etc., for the product that our company sells. It's pretty cool stuff.

It was also kinda funny - a guy who has worked for the same company as me had quit and gone to this new consulting firm - so we were training him! I think, in a way, he was trying to bust our butts, but he was still pretty nice - it was quite a surprise to see him when we walked into the conference room.

And then, there are all kinds of things going on in our personal lives. Andy and Ashes (his lovely girlfriend) are coming to visit this weekend, but unfortunately, John has to be somewhere else, so it will just be the three of us.

And, oddly, there is a shortage of pine shavings for the horses. Poor John went to 3 or 4 different distributors of critter shavings and discovered that for some reason, the furniture industry took some time off - so much time off that the pine shavings companies have all run out of shavings! For those who are unfamiliar with the care and feeding of horses, the pine shavings are about the best substance to put in the stalls - they are absorbent and smell great, and it is easy to clean compared to straw or pellets.

I have the crummy car this weekend. John needed the good one for his road trip. I hope John checks his email when he gets to his destination because I have no idea where the keys for the crummy car are, and I have a massage and a hair color appointment tomorrow. If the weather is nice, I guess I could walk, but I'm not sure how long it would take someone in as bad a shape as I am to go two or three miles to the salon.

You could always give me a call and I'll take you. Tomorrow's the Big-Eyed Boy's birthday, but it only takes him about 20 minutes to blow through his gifts, scarf down some cake and declare, "I'm BORED!"

Sent you my new cell number in email.
