Speech
I swear if I hear anyone use the term "Speaking Truth to Power" one more time, I'll scream.
Where the hell did that phrase come from?
Can't they just say "Speaking truth"?
Or better yet - just shut up?

I could not possibly agree with you more. That phrase sets my teeth on edge.

Well, the statement is supposed to mean something along these lines:
If you're 6'3" 275 pounds of muscle with an ill-mannered temper, it's really easy to call out the 5'4" 98 pound weakling for telling a lie.
Not so much when *you* are the 98 pound weakling calling out the ill-tempered Goliath on his lies.
The problem with the usage in today's political environment is that that last time I check, GWB hasn't even thrown so much as a hissy-fit over the likes of Sheehan and Olbermann, much less thrown them in jail.
Todays leftists take no risk whatsoever for calling GWB "Hitler" and so forth, in fact they're usually rewarded with higher ratings.
