Shudder

So, there is this crazy-ass CAIR VP who told a bunch of students that if Jesus was here, He would be a Muslim.

That is one of the most insulting statements to my religion (Catholicism) that I have ever heard.

But guess what - I'm not going to throw stones at embassies or bomb anyone or start a riot because this man is truly being blasphemous when he says something like that. But I am going to say that the Muslims need to just stop. Don't even compare Islam to Christianity. There is nothing at all in common with the two religions.

Nothing.

How can I prove that?

Well, for one, I'm an adult woman who has a clitoris. Unlike an estimated 100 million Muslim women who do not.

We don't believe in slavery. Islam does.

It's unbelievably insulting. It really does horrify me.

And then, there is Rosie, the scary token lesbian on the View (which I have never watched and never will watch and I can't figure out why anyone else would watch it!.)

Rosie believes that "radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam".

Right.

So if Jesus were here, he wouldn't believe in himself? Jesus said very clearly who he was, Islam says he was something else...

I'm confused by people who think he was just a great human being, or some kind of prophet. He was either the Messiah, or someone with a Messiah complex, he didn't leave any other options open.

Uh, lessee, Jesus would be a Muslim? Really? And their basis for that is that they are the religion of blowing people to pieces. Jesus WOULD NOT be subservient to Mohammmed, which position Islam has put the Son of the Almighty.

But this notion about Him being a Muslim is as farfetched as Mohammed would have been a Christian.

Here is a teaser: The New Testament explains it all. No man comes unto the Father except through Him and not someone who tells me convert or die.

I still have fun with the people who don't quite get that Jesus was... a Jew, not a Christian.

Radical christians are not numerous enough to be a threat. If they were, they would not only have to be more numerous, they would also have to have a limitless supply of Timothy McVeighs lined up to enforce their power. They would have to have policy makers and law enforcers who obeyed and supported the likes of Fred Phelps.

But they aren't, and they don't. We can thumb our noses at radical christians with impunity, with no greater consequence than being considered rude or reactionary. No one is chopping off our heads over our refusal to be radical christians.

No comparison.

I cannot believe those people. Yep, that's pretty insulting.

And rosie? Nope, not even if I had watched the view [blech] for years... I certainly wouldn't be doing so with her on it, spouting her hatred.

radical anything is scary.

So is it even more insidious then, John?

'If Jesus lived now he'd be a Moslem.' If Jesus was a Jew but would be a Moslem instead, what does that say? Curiouser and curiouser.

Basically, don't cast stones. Criticize us and expect us to criticize you back. Our faiths compete for butts in the seats after all.

Our faiths compete for numbers, but let us look at what we have in common: A belief in a Supreme Being named Jesus Christ. Works for me.

And Muslims who live here have it so much better than where they came from.
