New Orleans
I do love New Orleans. I have had the opportunity to visit there for work several times both before and after Katrina. I have probably spent a total of 5 weeks there in the past couple of years.
The folks I work with down there told me some stories of the flooding that were pretty darn scary - but they are all still in New Orleans, still working, only now they are rebuilding their homes and their neighbor's homes.
New Orleans has the best food on earth, do doubt about it! I love to sit at a table at one of the French Quarter restaurants and have a sazerac or a refreshing mint julep, and then order an oyster po'boy with a nice remoulade. Double yum!
E.M., the American Princess has a diary of a recent trip she made to New Orleans. It is far better than anything I could write, so please, go read the first installment of her Katrina Travel Diary.

Just got back from a long weekend in the French Quarter. I loved it. I'm not a good judge vis a vis Katrina since this was my first trip. I stayed at the Maison Dupuy where I was waited on hand and foot.........you know how I love that!
I didn't try the drink you recommend. I went for the hand grenade!

New Orleans is an ongoing criminal enterprise.
I have a bitch for you... quit using dark print on a dark background. It's unreadable.
