Grow up, bloggerettes!

One of my very favorite writers ever, Helen, has been unjustly pilloried by Michelle Malkin. Michelle called her a moonbat for writing this post.

Now, I may not agree with everything that Helen says(mostly her feelings about Lebanon and Blair), but I do agree with her so far as her sadness that travel has become so difficult because of evil. As a frequent traveler, I am not thrilled that the next time I go to the UK, I can't carry on my laptop, my books, my water or my mp3 player. Like Helen, I am concerned about my belongings making it to the other end without being stolen.

But Helen has every damn right to write what she feels. And she is reasonable and sane in her post.

Michelle Malkin, on the other hand, is very unreasonable these days. She has jumped the shark, as far as I am concerned.

When Malkin first started blogging, she was reasoned and smart. But the more attention she gets in the blogosphere, the more shrill and abrasive she becomes. And what is very upsetting, as one of my dear Cotillion friends said, is that Michelle has been the victim of the very same kind of nastiness that she has foisted upon dear Helen. And yeah, I have always thought of Helen as Dear Helen.

Michelle Malkin owes Helen an apology. A big one. And until Helen gets an acceptable apology from Michelle, Michelle is off of my blogroll.

One more thing - Zoloft can be your friend. It's mine and keeps me from flying off the handle - maybe it could help others in the blogosphere!

For a much better post on the same subject, go see dear Cassandra.

Zoloft - the candy for women over 30~

Rodger Schultz, of "Curmudgeonly and Skeptical", used to maintain that he got along much better with his fellow uh, humans, after a coupla Zoloft and 4 fingers or so of Scotch.

I think Makin suffers from the same problem as many others. To maintain attention she feels she has to become more and more extreme.

I'd never have her on my blogroll there are no comments. It's closer to an opinion column than a blog.

Dunno about the zoloft comment. Depression just isn't funny.

Ahhh, Zoloft - the breakfast of champions...
And not just for women over 30.

Trias - sometimes it's either laugh about it or cry, we choose to laugh.

Trias - some people who suffer from depression handle it with humor when they aren't on a down cycle.

Obviously - you aren't one of them...! 8^)

JTG is a kindred soul... I dunno about Greta. If she's depressed, it's nicely balanced by her manic side. Strike that - it's overwhelmed by her manic side!

Well you got a point :P I don't tell other people to take it tho.

To be serious: La Malkin is a cute, smart Filipina. That brings out all of the irrational masculine instincts in the guys who like her. Even if she doesn't make as much sense as she used to. (Which I dunno, haven't read her for a while, and never regularly.)

On the Zoloft: As with all of those kinds of drugs, the most anyone can say about it is "It depends." Can be a Godsend, or mess you up worse. Glad it's the former for Beth.

I've just now read the original post to which La Malkin linked, and to which she objected.

I'd sign my name to it, and I concur with every word of it.

Ppphffbbt!

I think the same thing happened to Ann Coulter.

Zoloft saved me!

I'm going to have to disagree with you guys on this one. Zoloft is not the answer. Paxil all the way!!!

It's unfortunate to see her possibly jump the shark like this because Michelle was posting some great stuff on "Faux-tography" and my "favorite" propaganda man since Baghdad "may their stomachs roast in hell" Bob, our newest foil known as Green Helmet Man. Michelle needs to remember to focus on the message, not the messenger. Unless it's Jacques Kerry.

Hopefully some tough love from her fellow bloggers will obviate the need for drugs. However, some of my closest friends swear by the creed of "better living through chemistry". Of course a couple them have been saying that since high school.....

I had no idea this had happened, and I agree with you 100%. My bet is Malkin doesn't read our Helen so she has no idea how the thoughts flow out of her and into her blog. Reasoned and smart though they are, they are almost always fueled by emotion. It's one of the things I love about her writing.

Regardless, a link was sent to Malkin, so she labeled it and stuck it on her site as content. That's a slippery slope.
