I watched them on TV like you. I was down on the South Shore.....the Irish Riviera. The town of Plymouth set off fireworks over the ocean that were visible from neighboring towns. The neighbors had fireworks smuggled in from New Hampshire and even North Carolina in one case. Ours were over in time to watch those in Boston. While I love being in the city, the stuff on the Esplanade is too much for me. Even with my connections (and you know I have them) I would still have to spend the bulk of my day sitting there waiting. Not even all those sailors from the visiting USS Kearsarge & USS Laboon would be enough to lure me away from my family BBQ. But they were awesome to watch, weren't they? (Now try to guess....am I talking about the foreworks or the officers in those dress whites?)
