If you do a simple google on godsmack and our troops you will find a certain interview. In it the head godsmack admits they did it because they would get big bucks. Do you make any difference between supporting our troops and supporting the war? I am unaware of any rock or country "star" " for the war either joining the military or encouraging their spouse or children to join. By the way do you even like godsmack tunes? Do you know they use the F word a lot? Do you know they have a song where they brag about a gangbang on a 15 year old groupee? If you want to support them go ahead. So far as your concern about whether or not someone joins the military these days - it is an all-volunteer military. Everyone has the right to their opinion whether or not they have served - like just about every lefty in the book - very few who know the first thing about the US Armed Forces.

Beth, I am so sick of entertainers who use their platforms to advance their stupid little pet causes. Geroge Clooney, Mel Gibson, Sean Penn, Dixie Chicks, the list goes on and on and on. Especially on the extreme left side. Very few examples on the right, Toby Keith springs to mind. Frankly I don't feel like hearing him either. Therin lies the beauty of Godsmack. As insanely as that wanker tried to pin Sully on a political position, he refused.
Simply put, what I got of Godsmack's position was that they view the military as regular people who do an important job. Thank you! I am so freaking sick of people who think that the only people who join the military are hoodwinked. I guess that is the cowards point of view. Even worse are those people that join the military and then think that the job did not come with an element of danger. THIS IS WHAT I SIGNED TO DO!!!! I am an airborne infantryman.
