This doesn't belong here, but since the comments on the immigration post have timed out I'm a gonna put it here.

Interesting take, if only from a purely economic perspective. But I think we should also worry about what such an integration would do to the common culture and to the political traditions here. I'm not so sure I want S. American style politics(and there's some LA Times reportage out there from about '02 about how an LA district was totally ruined by S. American style politics supplanting US tradition). I'm not trying to be Micheal Savage here. Just asking to look at the total package.
Integrated economies is great. All for stuff like NAFTA and CAFTA. Not sure about anything else though.
