So, what high school did you go to?
It's a St. Louis thing. Anytime a St. Louisan meets another St. Louisan, we want to know where that person went to high school. It just tells you something about that person.
I met David from The Glittering Eye last night for dinner. He is from St. Louis. I know what high school he went to! His lovely wife is not from St. Louis, but I know where she went to high school anyway.
I graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, but I also attended Villa Duchesne from kindergarten through 10th grade.
So, where did you go to high school? Even if you are not from St. Louis, I want to know!

I was taught at home for high school. By 11th grade, I quit and left home against my parents' will. I don't have a GED or diploma. I missed out on Prom, dates, band, etc.... Whether I was taught at home or dropped out, I was gonna miss it. So I decided to leave.

I served two years at Archbishop Keough High School (all girls Catholic school complete with uniforms and saddle shoes )in Baltimore. Dad got transferred to Turkey so I was an Incirlik American High School Hodja (turkish for wise man) as a junior.
Dad hated Turkey so I graduated from Mt. Hebron High School in Ellicott City, MD.

Pope John XXIII Central High School. some small minded people figured that since it was the height of the anti-busing this meant my parents were racist. However, it was actually the culmanation of twelve years of Catholic education at the direction of my father's aunt (a CSJ, sister of St.Joseph) which began in '66. So, my parent's would have to have been psychic in '66 to have seen the busing crisis coming. But I digress. Pope John was awesome, the nuns were awesome. I go to every reunion.

Conroe High School, so named for the town.
Narrowly escaped driving a 1060 Plymouth with fins big enough to support me had I tried to fly off a cliff a la Thelma/Louise.

I went to Palmerston North Girl's High in New Zealand, a great school except there were no boys, perhaps this why my parents chose to send me to a girls ony school.I am not saying I was boy crazy, just that I may have been a little more educated about the opposite sex when I finally decided I wanted to date.

I split my time between Greensburg-Salem High and Hempfield High, both in Greensburg, PA. We moved across town in my Sophomore year, and barely across the city limits, so that I had to change from the smaller city school to the larger township one.
It was kewl - we took rifle class as a gym elective one year ... at our own 6-lane shooting range ;-)

Leavenworth High School still has a functioning rifle range.

Punctilious - I lived at #5 Chaminade Drive - in a subdivision named Chaminade Park.

... McMinn Central High School..... Tennessee's stranges.... and that is saying a lot....

Pennant Hills High School in Sydney for me, not a bad school, considering I've always been an indifferent (meaning can't be stuffed studying!)student.

I went to The High School. St. Louisans know what that means. The customary question that follows Where did you go to high school? is What parish were you in?. St. Louis is a very Catholic town.
Posted by: Dave Schuler at February 28, 2006 7:54 PM
For those of you who aren't St. Louisans and don't know the code Villa is very hoity-toity. I know women who went to Villa (significantly older than SWWBO, of course) who spoke nothing but French at school.

Beth, being a Newbie who looks at street signs and hasn't learned to look at the big huge development labels it doesn't much help me.
Dave. I was gonna add the bit about the parishes but where I am there only seems to be one and it is pretty darn big!

I went to George Mason highschool in Virginia, Munich International School in Germany, and was homeschooled for my last two years of highschool (due to the horrible experiences I had at both schools)

Fort Atkinson Senior High School (named after the Wisconsin town).
When Beloved Wife & I attended (she was class of '86, I was '85), it was a 10th-12th grade follow-up to the J.F. Luther Junior High School (grades 7-9)
About 10 years ago, they spent $20+ million to build a 4-year "Fort Atkinson High School" on the edge of town and turned the old Senior High building into the school district admin office.
If I had any nostalgic feelings toward FASHS, this would've made me sad :-/

Wall High School in Wall Township NJ. I couldn't wait to get the hell outta there!

I went to Cass-Midway High School in Cleveland, MO, then transferred back to my home stomping grounds at East High School in KCMO. My spouse, Sir Mugley, strangely enough went to our rival Northeast High School in KCMO, the only team East could beat in football!

Ponderosa High School, Shingle Springs, California, about sixty miles west of Lake Tahoe. A semi-wilderness area back in the sixties.

Hyde Park High School, Chicago. Next to last graduating class with any white students. While I was there they opened Kenwood, an integrated high school which got the white and middle class blacks who would have gone to HP. The kids from the 'hood, and we juniors and seniors who didn't flee, got left behind. I learned a lot, but not scholastic stuff.

On a side note, Barb, I have an aunt who used to live in Greensburg, PA and lived right behind one of the high schools (it was in suburban Greensburg and I don't know the name of the school)
