Blogging

I have been blogging for 2 and 1/2 years. Aside from the guy who stalks me occassionaly, I have never feared for my well being or health until now.
I've had heated arguments with people from the Daily Kos, and from Atrios, but none of the lefties have ever done more than called me a stupid moron - none of them ever threatened me or mine.

That's why it is surprising and hurtful that a threat would come from the right.
No names mentioned here, I'm not a total idiot, but I am afraid.

I have this to say about blogging. The strength of the blogosphere, the one thing that we bloggers do best is fact checking.

If someone, anyone - be it the MSM or a blogger or an advertiser makes any kind of claim, we, the little people, the bloggers, tend to look for proof. None of us should make claims without any supporting evidence. None of us.
No one should think that he or she is going to believed simply because he or she says something is so. Anyone who publishes anything and calls it fact, should expect to be questioned. And if you publish something as truth, and either can't or refuse to back that 'truth' with documentatin, then you should damn well expect one of us little, non-important 'tiny-brained people to take note and point it out.

Well, I'll not mention this again.

Holy Crap. What did she do now?
A) You got friends. Lots of 'em.
B) You got the Arsenal of Argghhh!, and know how to use most of it. See Note Below.
C) You got friends, and lots of 'em.

Editor's note: We know we have friends, and we appreciate that. And we know that Ry was thinking of this in terms of a physical assault upon us, perpetrated by a Moonbat or otherwise deranged individual. SWWBO and I wish it known that circumstance is the *only* circumstance in which the Arsenal of Argghhh! is a tool. All other attacks and attackers will be met in the arena of ideas, the public square, or a court of law, and nothing Ry just said should be construed otherwise, as I don't believe he meant otherwise, nor should it be attributed to SWWBO and myself. We explicitly reject the concept.

And your friends have friends.
Just sayin'

Beth, I live in the Midwest and have all my life. I've never heard anything about the gas stations here either. Mizzz Schnizzell needs to grow up and act like a human being. There's no need to get so defensive, unless she's done something indefensible. When I first started blogging, I would neglect to post my sources. I learned different really quick. Oh, and by the way, being a member of Mensa just means you were dumb enough to pay them hundreds of dollars so you could say you were a member of Mensa. That's why I never joined. Hang in there... you have more friends than you could possibly know.

Point of clarification.

We *never* threaten people with the contents of the Arsenal.

We do make certain observations about the dangers of conducting a home invasion of the Castle, caveated with that while there *is always* a retreat option available to malefactors there are *no* options about advancing. Once called on the trespass, the only health-preserving option is to withdraw or surrender, and both quickly.

We never, ever, threaten anyone outside our demesne (i.e., property line) with the contents of the Castle Arsenal, and would really rather folks not do so in our stead. Even when they really don't mean it the way it sounds.

Just sayin'.

When it comes to the peace of the public square, we defend ourselves, and leave offense to Law Enforcement.

Just a clarification of what Ry said. It's what he meant, but, sometimes, what is obvious to some, is rather not obvious to others. Especially those with malice in their hearts, or confusions of the brain.

When I wrote that in my opinion Pat Robertson was acting like an asshat [basically] I got hatemail. Not my first, but this was horrible, virulent stuff.
...from the owners of a "Christian" website.

It was like a slap in the face, as if they were standing at my front door, ready to storm in. The shock of the attack and its point of origin shook me so that I immediately deleted the email.
I wished a few moments later that I hadn't, but there it is. Attacks like that can get to you...

Hang in there. Remember, your friends have friend who have more friends.
Just sayin'. :D

S4UBO:

For as long as this little Rican has browsed through your pages [never mind time spent over some Pupusas ;) ], I have noticed that the sharpest weapon in your arsenal recides right between your ears. Keep it up.

We're with you Beth. Hang in there.

(Slaps forhead)

D'oh! My bad. I'm sorry, but I have this proclivity to speak hastily and unclearly. Ed. got it right: I was speaking in terms of self defense(both physical and emotional(that's why the lots of friends are important, misery loves company)). Not in offensive terms. I'm sorry for making you go thru the rigamarole of turning ry-ese into English and disclaimers. Really, I am sorry about that.

*throwin' the two BBs that I knock together to create the sparks in my brain housing group into the fray*

Got your back, yer front, and yer flanks... We'll cut 'em down with our rapier wit, castigate them with cutting retorts, dash them upon the rocks and shoals of logic, and blow 'em outta the water with overwhelming fact...

(And if that doesn't work, well, we'll talk 'em to death...)

Seriously, when the blogsphere starts spittin out real rounds, then we think about returning real fire, but until then, we shall engage the artillery of our minds... (Point taken, John...)

Posted by: Sgt. B. at February 21, 2006 4:13 PM

Well, in your case, Sergeant B, you can bring along the 'pipes, too.

Nothing like screeching cats dragging their claws across the chalkboard to send the Moonbats Flyin'!

Where the heck are t/b urls for your and John's sites, dang it! I smacked her upside the head and I linked you both last night but couldn't find the URLs.

Yup, you have friends of friends of even more friends.

:)

True, John, and once we clear out the Moonbats, I'll replace the ticked off cat (don't worry, SWWBO, I ticked it off, I didn't hurt it... A little catnip and it'll be fine) with the actual bag, and strike a tune so pure and sweet that you'll think you're back in the Auld Country, soothing ruffle fur, motivating some chandelier dancing, and calling the sweet lovelies to man the 'Ritamatic...
