John - you have 7 or 8 members in your interior guard. Are you telling me you have Never seen one of them pick up a rubber band or shopping bag loop-handle? They don't require thumbs for that action, my friend!

If I leave a rubber band anywhere that Shoes-The-Cat can get to it, he will pick it up (with his paw, sans claws) and be chewing on it in seconds. In the interest of not killing said furball, I am Very Careful to put away all rubber bands.
