No more Drudgereport for me
I can no longer bring myself to go to Drudgereport.com. Why? Because everytime I go there, I get popups that somehow defeat my popup stoppers, I get spyware and those damnable toolbars that want to attatch themselves to my browser. I have to run adaware and spybot after every visit. It is ridiculous!!!
Until Matt Drudge cleans up his act, the heck with him.

Though I am not the pro Tech that you are, I have had way less trouble with that stuff since I started playing with penquins. It seems to be getting worse all around the web. I also recomend Firefox,it has a good popup blocker IMHO. Pete

Me Too! Why can't Drudge get legitimate advertisers who don't try to stealth install spyware? Like the damned 'free' screensavers that seem to be on his site 24/7. I dont' know how many computers that I have had to struggle with because the user installed a 'free screensaver' from a site just like the one on Drudge.
If he cannot sell advertising based on traffic to anyone other than the ones who stealth install spyware then I won't go to his site either.

Pete is on the right track. If you have Firefox, you can stop those pop-ups, which are Flash-based. Follow these steps (in Firefox - it doesn't work in IE).
1. Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
2. Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
3. Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
4. Set the value to 2.
The possible values are:
0: Allow all popups from plugins.
1: Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
2: Block popups from plugins.
3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.

I agree, Firefox RULES.

I use Mozilla rather than Firefox and Lincoln of Abe's solution works for Mozilla, also. Thanks!!
