Olympics go to London | Main | My God, I'm so angry!
July 7, 2005
Oh, no!
I wake up here in Arizona and find that horror of all horrors, London has been hit by bombs. I look at the tv and I see streets I've walked down and subway stations I've been in. Oddly enough, despite the claims of an AlQuieda related group, CNN doesn't want to say it was an Islamic group.
We have to stop these people. We have to stop them now.
Update: Tim Worstall has a lot of information.
And of course, Castle Argghhh!! has appropriate links and observations.

My thoughts exactly. Screw the Olympics. There's a war on.

Sally, I am so sorry this has happened to London. My heart goes out to all the British people who are being terrorized by these, these - can I even call them people?

For once, the MSM is being conmesurate about assigning blame on today's atrocity. If they would only behave the same, when any Wild Arse Allegation comming from our enemies, would be laid upon us.... I'm just boiling mad now.

Scum? Attacks on innocent civilians are, unfortunately something we are very familiar with. My Dad was nearly killed by a German bomb during The Blitz, and three times by the IRA when he worked in London. Thank God everything seems to be running as smoothly as can be expected.

Sally - actually, I think Ken Livingstone's London is responding one heck of a lot better than might have been expected.
Credit where credit is due.
Let's not have *too much* of that Brit reserve!

Hello John. I wasn't aware until today of quite how well we were prepared for this. There were so many procedures already in place. And I have to say that when I got the call this morning, I had feared a major 911-scale attack.
As for "Brit reserve", I see that the Blitz black humor is already surfacing around the blogosphere. It's our coping mechanism.

Hi, I am trying to look at your blog but the sidebar is cut in half.

Beth-
It must feel so weird since you were just there --I was watching the coverage this morning thinking that I have been through everyone of those tube stations --people that haven't been and don't realize how far down they are must not be able to comprehend the full measure of terror that would create! My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families...and my hopes that the Brits stand firm.

Mountain Girl - I commented on your post that you are trying to get some traffic on.
I disagree with your suppositions.
