Airport Blogging
Well, I got to the airport three hours early only to find there is no earlier flight from Houston to Kansas City.
So, I thought I'd just give you all my opinions on lotsa stuff -
1. Despite what the Administration wants, we are most definitely in a war on Terror - not a struggle against violent behaviour - geeeze!
2. Fox News need to let Natalie go - I don't care who did what - and why do they only pay attention to suburban rich blonde girls who can afford to go to exotic places?
3. I don't care about the guy who dissappeared from a cruise ship on his honeymoon, either.
4. I don't care about what any athlete or actor or singer or comedian thinks about how the world should be run.
5. I mean really - most of the above listed famous people didn't go to college!
6. Food, drink and tobacco busybodies should just worry about themselves. I don't smoke, but I'm offended by the attempt in New Jersey to keep people from smoking in their own private cars.
7. More daylight savings time? Dumb - school kids have to walk to school in the dark by the end of October as it is - countless people drive to work in the dark in the autumn until daylight savings time - lotsa accidents.
It makes sense in the summer for many of us, but not in the winter!
8. I think it is very good that dark chocolate is possibly good for lowering blood pressure. I would happily volunteer for a study to verify the findings of Chicago researchers!
9. I had a fantastic dinner last night at a new Mexican Restaurant in Houston called Santos - the owners worked for Ninfas for many years - and this food is better than Ninfas. And I had the best ever margarita there - oh it was so smooth and good!!! The waiter said it contained Patron and Cointreau and the juice of one lime and 1/2 an orange - lovely stuff!

My goodness - I hadn't thought of Ninfa's in years! My brother used to live in Houston, and we went to one near his apt several times. That is where I had my first taste of Sopopillas with honey on them .... Yummm
Gotta agree with you on the whole list!

"struggle against violent behavior" is the latest of the PC drivel spouted to appease the leftist moonbat brigade.

Ninfa's is just a major YUM. And, so is dark chocolate.....I'll be right there with you in that study! If you ever come to San Antonio or Austin, do I have some treats for you! You ever need any Texas hot fixings let me know, I'd be happy to ship them out to you. I know that when I lived out of state for 12 years, it was really hard to find any good mexican food ingredients. Old El Paso just doesn't quite cut it.
And, you are right, I'm not interested in the kind of news we seem to receive over the TV these days...and, I have never understood why people set such store in the opinion of celebrities. My sister-in-law is a nutcase about celebrities and it's just damned embarrassing. They are just humans like the rest of us, with all our failings and positive accomplishments. Their opinion is no better or worse than anyone elses (well, generally speaking anyway - some of these guys are mensa level and some dumber than a broomstick, so ...) yet, they have the ability to get press attention. But, then, we did elect a B-movie actor as President. Go figure. Do you think Narcissism goes hand in hand with politics and celebrity? I have often thought it must myself...
Since I have a liberal philosophy, this is the first I have heard of any "struggle against violent behavior" PC drivel, which I must agree is drivel. And, I tend to get around.
On the other hand, it isn't PC drivel to want your country to stand above the rest and not use the techniques terrorists use against their hostages. Even every General of all the Commands agrees we shouldn't be breaking domestic, military and international law with the current interrogation policies (which they objected to from the beginning). Fighting wars against terrorists doesn't appear to be doing much good except getting a hell of alot of people killed, including our armed forces (whom I support wholeheartedly)as well as civilians. I'm NOT saying we didn't stop some terrorists, we have, but the cost has been far greater than it needed to be. We need to learn where and how the terrorist thinks and combat them in that manner - war tactics don't work to combat these small mobile groups. And, where the heck is Bin Ladin anyway?
'An eye for an eye' has historically never solved anything, and in fact appears to have magnified our problems in both Afghanistan and Iraq, not to mention Africa, Lebanon, Pakistan, Egypt and Iran. I hear we are now training African to fight - isn't that what we (the CIA) taught Bin Ladin?
It seems to me that it could also be deemed PC to ignore the wrongdoings of your own country. So...perhaps both sides should take a better look around? I wish I understood how people can overlook some of this stuff.
There don't seem to be any good answers anymore...and it's damned depressing.
Leftist batting her eyelashes at the da moon......
