Today was a special day

I suppose you will need some background to understand this. It is about hair - my hair.
I have known John for a bit over 12 years. We have been married for 7 1/2 years. All this time my hair has been pretty darn short because I was always told that it is too fine to have long. I have had red hair, brown hair, highligted hair, poofy hair and my normal very straight hair, very short.

John has never noticed any of the weird things I've done with my hair - and if I asked him about this or that cut, he has always said "As long as you are happy with your hair, it's fine with me and that's all that counts". And I have always appreciated his outlook, since my hair is *not* my best feature.

Well, I have been letting my hair grow for about 8 or 9 months, and it is finally long enough that it almost hits my shoulders. And thanks to the best stylist on earth, my hair looks good.

And today, for the first time ever, John said "your hair looks good like that".

Wow.

My wee wifey has hair like that. Her mother used to want her to wear it in curls when she was young, but that required industrial strength perm and hair spray to the point it just broke off. For the past thirty five years she has just worn it hanging straight down her back.

My hair, on the other hand, will take a wave if I just braid it when it is wet. Our son's hair split the difference, just about perfect, but he donated it all to Locks of Love and now wears it in a five o'clock shadow.

Funny how that works with kids - Andy has a head full of thick hair that grows like crazy. I have, well, at least I'm not bald!

And mine takes a wave just looking at it.

Ahh, Beth - I had to LOL at this one! I have tried to get Hubster's opinion on my current hair style and next options for 4-5 months. He also has avoided making any opinion-like statements, even when asked point blank. I've been slowly letting it get longer in the past year, but as it hit my shoulders, I remembered why I dislike caring for longer hair.

We both go to the same stylist, and a few weeks ago, he got his head buzzed (he keeps iv MUY short) first. He left to shop while I was getting mine cut. Cammi (our stylist) started asking what I wanted - and told me that Tim had discussed with HER that I got ready quicker with shorter hair!!! Hehe -- I was going to get it shortened a bit anyway - so this just reinforced it. Guys are SO funny sometimes ;-)

Good for you Beth! And I SOOOOO get that.

I have horrible hair - and there has only been one person that made it look really good....and she's in Orlando! So yeah, I get it. And I'm thrilled for you.

Adds a little extra swing to the step - don't it?!?!

Did you let him sniff at it and play with it, some?

I do hope so.
