Short Rant

Just saw a Nissan Altima commercial. It showed some asshat driving the Nissan through a Railroad Crossing (with bars descending) to beat a train.

This seems to me to be the ultimate in irresponsibility on the part of an advertiser.

I have not been a fan of Nissan since a salesman at a Nissan dealership in Kansas City, Missouri refused to allow me to test drive one without my husband present. I swore I would never buy one.

This idiotic commercial just cements that promise.

I agree with your assesment and I thought the same thing when I first saw that ad. However, if you look again you will see that the bars are actually down across the tracks not the road, as if to say it's the train that has to stop for the car. Still, I think they're going to catch some heat on this.

The only winners out of this lack of this marketing misstep will be the LAWYERS.

I also am not a fan of Datsuns/Nissans. All of their products have the feel of tinker toys.

Wait! There's more!

Nissan was founded by the Japanese Army in the 30's, to help in their exploitation of Manchuria. Sony and Honda are purely postwar.

Nissan is now owned by Renault, a company I have hated ever since they shafted Chrysler, creating the need for the so-called bailout in which Congress gave Chrysler absolutely no money.

And Renault makes really shitty cars. I know from sad experience.

You can also console yourself with the thought that the dork salesman wouldn't last long with that kind of stupid customer service.
