Allan live-blogged his garage sale yesterday!
I swore off having garage sales years ago when I got just one too many bargain hunters who took one look at the curtains I was selling and said "gee, what awful taste, I'll give you 50 cents for all of them".

My sister swears she plans to have just one more sale, and then she is done forever.
I don't know whether I should believe her.

I swore off garage sales when a customer said he couldn't make any money reselling the books he wanted if I didn't lower my price.
I told him 1) I didn't care if he made money or not and 2) the books were nearly brand new and were well worth the quarter I was charging.
