I need a tougher laptop

I also need a new laptop backpack. Because the backpack can't close, the laptop flew out onto the parking lot last night.

I cracked the case.

Do you suppose that anyone would notice if I duct tape it together?

I think you need to take over Tammi's "Road Warrior" moniker! ;)

Hope it was a work comp and not your personal machine...

"hope it was a work comp..."
When you travel enough, the distinction gets lost sometimes!

Duct tape might might be noticable, Beth - but get some sharpies and add a little artwork, no problem ... *grin*

Stickers! I can send you some biohazard and radioactivity stickers.... that ought to turn a few TSA heads :)

Forget the duct tape, get a bumper sticker you really like (or use it to hide the tape). Nothing to out-there if it is your work machine. Nuke the Moon might be over the top...

While Duct Tape might suffice for a dial up connection, I would recommend the Army Standard "Hunnert mile a hour tape", OD green, of course, for a high speed connection.

Bill T over at the Castle could likely give you the Mil Specs. and the NSN, and probably has some in his garage.

Heh. Like *I* wouldn't? Geez. I *know* you like Bill, there, R, but gad, I *did* wear a uniform for a few decades mese'f!

I know you may not have made the connection - but SWWBO is Mistress of Castle Argghhh! Please don't send my wife to seek help from an... an... Aviator! She's a good girl, she is!

This from the man with two aviators as his co-bloggers, of course...
*grin*

*laughing*.......yes, I made the connection twixt here and the Castle some time ago.

My first, formost and only concern was in getting her laptop field repaired in the most expedient manner, and with the proper high speed material, so that she could stay in touch with you, John.

And I do sincerely appologize for bringing Bill into this........what WAS I thinking?

(OK, is that enough Aviator's Logic to get me out of this one?)

*still chuckling*......on the way back to work.

To get, well, earnest, for a moment here; Do you know what kind of plastic/metal the laptop's case is made of? Maybe you can find a compatable adhesive. Be wary if it's ABS. That stuff tends to crack, and craze, and crumble when introduced to the solvents in some common adhesives.
