Threats to Judges must be stopped
Fox News is reporting the murder of a Superior Court judge in Atlanta - while court was in session. Two court deputies were also shot. It looks like the killer (a suspected rapist) grabbed the deputy's gun and started shooting. They have not caught the killer yet - he has been hijacking cars all over Atlanta to escape.
This is bad. Our justice system must be protected or we are lost.
Update: The court reporter was also killed. So was a deputy.
Update - they got him - alive. He may also be responsible for the death of a Customs Agent.

A similar thing happened in England, where the judge was stabbed with a sharp pencil stolen from the pocket of a clerk.
Seriously, though. This is awful. How did it happen?

Reportedly the defendant was unshackled in order to avoid making an unfair negative impression on the jury. This well-meaning decision was unsuccessful.

This miscreant has ties to my home county and several neighboring ones, and even played football for my alma mater. The likelyhood is that he won't live to be brought back to Atlanta to stand trial
