I'm in the DC area this week
I flew into BWI yesterday afternoon and drove to Silver Spring and checked into my hotel - then I got in the car to find a place to eat dinner. I swear, I drove around for 90 minutes, gave up, when to the hotel and asked for some suggestions - all I saw was McDonalds - anywhere! It ends up I have to drive all the way to Laurel to eat at a sit down restaurant - that's probably 10 to 15 or more miles, or so it seemed to me!
Then, I get here, and I realize that I do not have my client's address- I checked all email, etc., and no one ever sent it to me! So, I had to call the client and sheepishly ask where the heck they are!
Things must get better as the week goes on - they must!

Should have checked with me prior to your visit. Downtown Silver Spring is chock-full of sitdown restaurants now-a-days.
Ever since the Discovery Channel and the American Film Institute moved in, Silver Spring is buzzing. From your pedestrian TGIF, fancy Italian to ethnic Ethiopian, etc.
Good God, you drove all the way up to Laurel? Next time you are in town, I could give you some pointers.
