An Idea ..
Okay, we've got the Carnival of the Recipes off and running - and a whole bunch of people who want to host. So, I was thinking, maybe we could do another recipe thing that is related to the Carnival - some kind of recipe request thing?
I thought of this due to my own selfishness - I had Key Lime Crumb Cake at Starbucks in the Orlando Airport Friday morning. Oh. My. God. Yum!
I can't find a recipe for it anywhere - does anyone have that recipe, or a similar one?
Maybe I can do a weekly bunch of requests from people and have the carnival link to the requests - and then when those recipes are submitted, link the requests to the recipes - or something - ideas and suggestions are welcome, folks!

1/2 cup lime juice (3 to 4 limes)
4 teaspoons grated lime zest
4 egg yolks
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
11 graham crackers, processed to fine crumbs
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Procedure:
1. Whisk the egg yolks and lime zest together in a bowl until tinted light green. This takes about 2 minutes
2. Beat in milk. Add juice and set aside untill it thickens.
3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
4. Mix graham cracker crumbs and sugar in another bowl. Add butter and stir with a fork until well blended.
5. Pour this into an approx. 9-inch pie pan and press over the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Make sure the graham cracker mixture forms a firm crust on the bottom of the pie pan. Press with a spoon or measuring cup if needed.
6. Bake on the center rack for about 15 minutes until the crust is lightly brown. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
7. Pour the lime filling into crust, spread evenly, and then bake for 15 minutes until the center sets, but still wiggles when shaken.
8. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.
9. Refrigerate for at least three hours until it is well chilled.
Have fun!

I don't know about the crumb cake part though....

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!!!! I was thinking the same thing this morning. I have a roaster oven that I am having a hard time finding recipes for. The first time I hosted, a college student asked for cheap and good recipes.

Note: Make the Crumb topping first
Key Lime Cake:
Ingredients
3 key limes (squeezed)
1 package lemon cake mix
1/2 cup water
1 (3 oz.) package Lime Jell-O
4 large eggs, room temperature (slightly beaten)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Mix the cake ingredients together until well mixed. Pour into a greased 9"x13"x2" baking pan.
Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry.
Crumb Topping:
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons chopped pecans
Blend all ingredients well and sprinkle on top of unbaked cake.
I don't know how this will turn out, but... worth a shot, right? :)

Yep, a good idea that one. I've recently got a slow cooker, so would be happy to get more recipes for it. And as ever, would be happy to host a Carnival.

Another Great Idea Beth! I've been posting some random questions of this sort on our site for a while now, but sometimes they get lost under the rest of the posts.
I've been trying to think of ways to keep it manageable for the host. Perhaps you could have a trackback-based list where people post the question on their own blog (or email as with the recipes for those without blogs) but trackback to the questions post. The moderator could then highlight some answers from the links that generated the most interest and perhaps call attention to questions that still need a response.

A wiki?

a wiki - I don't know - I'd be worried that the democratic underground denisons would go in and change all the ingredients!

Or at least the names. I can see it now....
