Update on post below
Edrienne, who I like quite a bit, seems to think I believe all Democrats to be morons.
No, I don't think all Democrats are morons - but there are so many of them like the incredibly nasty commenters on Zephyr's site, Kos's site and Atrios's site that the normal, sane Democrats are pretty much overshadowed by them. I see no excuse for that kind of vitriol anywhere.
And Zephyr is one of their own - that's how they treat a fellow democrat.
Now, Michelle Malkin is being harrassed by likely the same morons who are harrassing Zephyr.
As for Armstrong Williams - he was fired, as he should be, and I have never said there is any comparison between what Kos did (he partially disclosed his clients) and what Williams did.
However, Kos's claim that he was merely a 'technical consultant' is a little silly. He was still payed by the Dean campaign, so you can't tell me he wouldn't be more likely to lean toward Dr. Dean for $3,000 a month.

thanks, beth - i also enjoy stopping by here.
as for the kos site, i think the major difference between williams and kos is that kos was hired and paid by a political campaign (and he did not promote dean, btw - he was mostly absent during that period) but armstrong was paid with taxpayer money by the government to promote policy without disclosing those payments.
i agree with you about the hateful use of language and wanted to let you know that i have used terms in anger describing those with diametrically opposed views - but i am no longer going to do so.
i realize that if we cannot discuss issues without using hurtful or accusatory language, we will never be able to find the truth ... and there is but one truth out of three, as a professor used to say: there is you truth, my truth and THE truth.
i think all of us are struggling to find THAT truth - it isn't easy and requires introspective examination of our beliefs and positions. discourse helps in that process. diatribe doesn't - so i'm swearing off inflamatory language and sticking to discussing the issues whereever i post from now on.
thanks for showing me that i, too, am guilty of generalizing and unintentially including everyone within those generalizations.
btw, i've posted a similar declaration in opposition to namecalling on kos and hopefully it will hit home. unfortunately, on all sides, there are many who will continue - so it is us to us to find those ideas that intrigue us and challenge us while skipping over the vitriol.
looking forward to stopping by again soon,
best,
edrie
