Poor little Deaniac Zephyr

Zephyr is the young woman who pointed out that the Dean Campaign was hoping that the payments they made to KOS (Markos Zuniga) would encourage him to write a lot of pro-Dean propaganda on his blog.

Now, all the other Deaniacs have come out from under their rocks to spew indignation and hate in the general direction of young Zephyr. Go read her post here, then scroll down and get a load of the absolutely hateful, spiteful, threatening comments from people who are on the same side of the political spectrum that she is on.

It will take some time - they have a lot of anger (as did Dr. Dean during his scream moment).

Now, after you have read such lovely comments to this young woman - like this one -

I would not walk across the street to piss in your mouth if you were dying of thirst.

Your are the most wretched scum I have ever seen. I remember meeting you in Iowa & thinking that you were not only harsh to look at but so full of yourself that you will probably always be single.

Now I understand what a truly putrid piece of human debris you are. You would probably kill your own pets for $20 or sell out your own mother if it would get you a TV interview.

Your father must be so ashamed. I imagine him sitting outside in his underwear at the trailer park with his head in his hands thinking what a waste of sperm you were. Even now he laments that if only he would have blown his wad into a kleenex, at least he could have been proud of that, far more than the anorexic rat headed beast he has unleashed into the world with a stupid name & hateful countenance.

Oh how your mother must rue the day you slithered out of her rotten womb.

May God mercifully bless them both with Alzheimer's to quell the agony of shame you have wrought upon their lives.

Or the one that simply calls the young woman a dumb bitch

Now, think about all these truly bizarre and horrid comments - all from Democrats. Many from Deaniacs.

Are these the people we want making any kind of decision about how our country should be run?

I was once a Democrat. One of the reasons I quit being a democrat is the blatant hostility and just plain meanness that so many democrats have toward anyone who disagrees with them on anything. Even people on the same side they are on.

Morons.

Morons all.

Unbelievable. Are Democrats just that immature?

Posted by: pam at January 15, 2005 5:07 PM

Why, yes. Yes they are.

Well, some of them are. The ones who give the rest of them a bad name.

i belive it. i have such a low opinion of dimocrats.

i would hope that you don't really mean that! i'm a democrat and because i hold differing opinions, does that make my view immature? of a low nature?

the only way we will ever come together in this country is through discourse - not disdain.

the anger that you see at zephyr is that she has distorted the facts and misrepresented them in open forums. kos and jerome both went to work for the dean campaign as technical consultants... jerome shut down his blog and kos ran a full disclaimer on the homepage and turned over that homepage to three members of the site who were not "deaniacs".

the real anger toward zephyr is her trying to compare the legitimate hiring of web tech consultants (who openly acknowledged being paid consultants) with a newscaster (armstrong) who had an undisclosed contract to promote and push a policy and agenda for the NCLB program. he (armstrong) accepted payment (in the music industry the term is payola, and it is illegal) for hyping the program and he did NOT disclose the payments to anyone.

the problem here is that armstrong was no longer an "independent" newscaster, but was a paid lobbyist for NCLB.

when our media is paid to promote ANY program or policy and does not acknowledge this to the listening public, the entire concept of independent media is destroyed.

zephyr tried to justify armstrong's lack of ethics and professionalism (and possible criminal activities - see congressional hearings called for by FCC - repubs and dems alike) by equating it to the hiring of two political bloggers by a political campaign.

if this allegory is to be considered legitimate, no campaign could ever hire any technical expert ever again - on either side of the political fence.

the distinction here is not what a political campaign does with politically raised campaign funds that have been properly disclosed to the public, but what has been done with taxpayer money from the government to pay newscasters to present as hard news a political viewpoint in order to get approval for a government program.

wouldn't you really like to know that is happening in the news?

imagine bill clinton's HHR paying Dan Rather to promote universal health care with your tax dollars... would you have approved of that?

i'd like to keep visiting your site, but if you really believe all democrats are immature and morons, maybe i am in the wrong place.

your call.

I also left the Democratic Party. I could no longer tolerate the intolerance I saw among too many Democratics. It's one thing to have a difference of opinion and discuss it; it's an entirely different thing to be called the nastiest of names and demeaned simply because you came to a different conclusion than others did. Life can be hard enough, I don't choose to associate with those who are just mean and nasty and seemingly take great joy and comfort in showing how they can debase another human being. No, not all Democratics are like that, but the ones who are helped drive me away with their vitriol and venom.

i think that nastiness and ugliness are not confined to one particular party, but rather too those who are unhappy and angry. it is not the person who makes the party, but the ideology that defines it.

within any group, there will be people who offend and try to "control". i've left a number of liberal sites as they became increasingly nasty - some of it was from those on the conservative side, some of it was from those who were "liberals". humans are complex critters and the desire to hurt and to have power manifests itseslf in many ways.

it is important to separate the "individual" with the "ideology". for example, i didn't particularly "like" kerry - but i prefer the policies and ideology of the democratic party over the republican/conservative choices at this point in time. this isn't set in stone, i've voted split ticket many times in my life, but major issues such as social security, the concept of preemptive war and others direct my choices currently.

hopefully, one of these days, we can do some real issues based debates - i'd love to hear your views and would love to share mine and how i arrived at this point.

Even when one is dying of thirst urine really should be filtered before drinking. Trapped coal miners traditionally used bark peeled off of shoring timbers to do this.

Yeah all Democrats are mean and evil.

Well, I have to go. Someone on FreeRepublic.com told me that The Clinton Chronicles is being webcast by LittleGreenFootballs.

LOL! (putting best evil foot forward...)

Personally, I seldom visit LGF and don't know diddly about the freepers.

Not all conservatives are the same, guys!
