hmmm, i read and post regularly on dailykos and what i am seeing is not the attacking of zephyr, but the inaccurate comparisons made to the armstrong story.

seems kos was a consultant, but he clearly ran a disclaimer on the homepage and then gave over that homepage to other bloggers while he was away.

the reason people at dailykos.com are upset is that there is an attempt to somehow say that kos was doing something underhanded by working as a technical consultant for a campaign.

the real issue here is that the newsmedia - i.e., armstrong, accepted money to promote a policy and to present this policy while accepting a large payment for doing so.

having worked for cbs radio network news in the late 70's and 80's - this would NOT have been allowed and would be grounds for immediate dismissal.

the media is supposed to be an independent reporter of fact, not a place for any party to pay supposedly independent newscasters to act as spokespersons for policy.

to hire someone as a political consultant that is openly admitted and disclosed is one thing (kos); to accept payment to promote policy and then present it as hard news while NOT disclosing payment is another (armstrong).

come visit the site and read the discussions - it is always better to have information firsthand than to hear it from a third party!
