I'm here in Colorado

The flight was fine, though my seatmate was a jerk! This guy had his elbow in my side the entire flight. He was one of those tall people who think that those of us who are short should give way to them.

I had the aisle seat, he had the middle seat. He asked me to move to another seat because he was not comfy. I explained that I had picked my seat a month ago, and had he thought ahead, he could have had an aisle seat too - and no, I'm not going to move - why don't you!?! You see, this guy had two daughters sitting 8 rows in front of him. There were empty seats in the row across from them, but I suspect he didn't really want to deal with his children. Then he pulled out his own beer (glass bottle) and the flight attendant politely took it away from him, and showed him the law that disallows BYOB on airplanes.

Anyway, finally got to Denver, and I had to find the co-worker I had never met who was picking me up.

I felt kinda silly - there was a crowd of people waiting to pick people up at the assigned meeting place - the fountain between all the bagage carousels. I had no idea what this guy looked like, so I yelled at a bunch of total strangers - is anyone here named Reed?

No one even glanced my way. I was a wee bit concerned that no one was going to pick me up. Finally, Reed came running to the fountain area - right to me (I must have looked awfully obvious!) and he said "Beth?". I said, "yes!". So, I got to the hotel! It is a Hilton Garden Inn - free wireless access. I love to stay at Hilton Garden Inns - you get a nice room, refrigerator, microwave and wireless - what more can one ask for? Oh, and there is an indoor pool and a gym. I plan to swim early, early tomorrow morning - so no one else can see my chubby self!

I walked to the closest restaurant, Hacienda Colorado, and it was quite good. They make a decent top shelf margarita and I had a dish that was just delicious - jumbo shrimp - stuffed with jalapeno peppers and wrapped in bacon.
Good God - what could be tastier? Yum, yum, yum!!!

I like Colorado. The air today is very clear and sharply cold, but not as cold as the weather at home!!!

I love Hilton Gardens. When I travel solo that's where I always stay. They've always taken very good care of me.

Have a good trip! I hope you get a chance to enjoy yourself a bit!

When I did the bank job in Fairway, I had a rental vehicle, so I got to travel to restaurants. I had packed plenty of energy bars, and the people at the bank laid on a spread for us Friday night, so I had plenty of expense money to eat well when I went out. I did Kansas City BBQ of course, but there was also a Southwestern Grill place at the Mission mall I simply fell in love with.

The other trip I made for this project (these were both short term contracts in the middle of a stretch of unemployment) was to Moberley, Mizzourah. I didn't eat so well on that trip, but one of the two oriental buffets in town wasn't half bad.

I remember that bank job - it made the news. Sure you should be so open about it?

As for Moberly, other than kicking their butts in football and wrestling while in high school, and helping drag a large granite boulder there to be the Omar Bradley memorial (he was born in Moberly) I don't have any recollection at all!

I once got tossed for bringing my own keg on a flight...no really, it's amazing how many people try to brown bag it and get pissed when they have their adult beverage confiscated.

At 6'3, 235 lbs, I always carefully plan my seating and it constantly pisses me off when arrogant, self-important pricks (or prickettes)flopp their butts down in my seat and then act like it's a mistake and their sitting on velcro when you ask them to move.

"Can't you just sit over there..."

Hell no...

glad you had a safe flight and glad you're getting a chance to play in Denver in January. It's always a toss up as to what you'll get weather-wise...which makes it lots of fun! Here's to a MUCH BETTER flight home!

Chain food— Noodles & Company is quite tasty, as is Panera. Indian food— the two best places that I know of are in Aurora, and are India's (at Tamerac Square, ask for directions) and Star of India (take westbound Parker Road off of 225, turn right on Cornell and immediately into the parking lot, they're very nice folk.)

If you're ever going to Spokane, that's where I can REALLY help you eat well.

You might have heard about the Fairway job. Even after I had the Tri-Star Bancorp software running on their computers the village zoning commission was still insisting they leave the Mercantile Bank sign up because some t was undotted or i uncrossed on the paperwork.

As for Moberley, all you can see of the town from the hiway is the water tower, with a sign which reads "There's more to Moberley than meets the eye." There is, but not by much. High point of that job was picking up an old Army PsyOps manual at the used book store there.
