Sigh
Just when we get everything all fixed after Hal the kitty's escapade, Houdini decides to be a troublemaker again.
It was very cold yesterday, so we kept the dogs inside while we were at work. You might remember that the dogs are not allowed in the kitchen, and we have a cat door to allow the cats in and out. Well, Houdini bullied his little fat self through the cat door - pulling it out of its hinges. Then he proceeded to find and eat a box of PopTarts - Blueberry.
He also ate the cat food.
And 'crunchy tootsie rolls' from the litter boxes.
This is one bloated puppy. During the night, he had several poopies on his puppy pads (Houdini has a small bladder, and rather than have to get up and put him out several times at night, he uses puppy pads - kinda like diapers that you put on the floor). He did not eat his breakfast for the first time in memory, and he is sitting behind me in my chair, tummy rumbling like crazy.
It's always something in the Donovan House of Critters!

Ugh! That's the thing with dogs, they tend to have zero self-control when it comes to food. But poor puppy-dawg, he must feel miserable today. Especially with the variety of substances he consumed. "Crunchy tootsie rolls" indeed.

Not to mention the splendid holiday spirit of his poops, containing as they do sparkly little bits of Pop-Tart wrapper...

I can hear that tummy rumblin, and I can imagine John yelling, "Look out! There he blows!" Ewww
Poor baby, your critters are sure giving you hell, when I read the one about the dryer I laughed out loud.

I always find it interesting to see what comes out when my dog's belly rumbles. Once it was a bandana. Then again, I have a 140 pound dog. ;-)

Oh MY!!! I don't know if I could handle a dog that raided the food cabinets... LOL.

That's it... No dogs in my house. Three kids is all I can take.

They don't ALL do that. Mine only eats kleenex. The vet told us to be thankful that was all she was interested in eating, and left it at that. Usually she just shreds it and leaves a tidy pile, doesn't even eat it......
Poor Houdini!

Hunter only stays with us when my son is out of town for more than a day, working for my brother. He's been too busy at his regular job to have any time for that lately, so we aren't having canine issues at this house.
She could care less about cat tootsies, but she does love their food. First thing she does when she gets here is run up to the second floor bathroom, to see if there are any little cat food cans which haven't had every iota of flavor licked from them. Once she's done with that, she takes the cans over to the stairs, and flings them down so she can hear them clatter. This will keep her busy for half an hour. She's not the sort of breed to have a sensitive stomach; I've never heard of her having trouble digesting anything. Her usual diet consists of corn and soy-free dry food, preferably with fry grease poured on it, whole chicken backs from the ghetto grocery and the remnants of my son's bachelor cuisine.

Oh, Houdini is such a little pig. I have to watch him eat his food and take him away from the other two big dogs who are always still eating, otherwise, he bullies them away and takes their food, too. He is about 6 pounds overweight - and he only weighs 22 pounds - my other dogs weigh 50 pounds and 76 pounds - and they are afraid of this little booger.

Poor pup!
I have to admit that I LOL when I read the adventures of your furry crew! Our house is somewhat nuts like this too with 4 cats and a dog! I've been following the dryer incident with interest! You never know when you'll need this info!!
Thanks for sharing!
