And we still can't decide

What to name the new cat. I try out different names on him, and nothing seems to fit him yet. Ideas. I have no ideas!

John hasn't stuck 'Kevlar' on him yet? LOL!

I knew of - saw pics of, I should say - a collie named 'Thistle'. His people called him 'Thissy' most of the time, but he was a golden beauty, just like little no-name. The name struck me as very fitting.

'Polonius'? After all, it was Polonius who gave the good counsel: To thine own self be true. ;)

'Bailey'. It's almost Christmas, and what do you think of around this time? Yep, "It's a Wonderful Life" and George Bailey, good-hearted citizen.

'Adonis' because I still think he's a cutie.

'Zeus' if he thinks he rules the roost, so to speak.

'MacKenzie' or 'Campbell' if he thinks he's Scottish.

'Twain' if he thinks he's a writer.

:)

First, we need a pic! Show a pic! That'll help!

I thought he had a very sage look, like Benjamin Franklin. Maybe "Franklin"?

Do any of these fit?

Romeo

Mr. Meow

Rusty

Dusty

Morris

How about "NoName", it's kinda starting to stick to him anyways.

B.B.?? (he was shot and you said he has a bullseye pattern on his side) hehehe

Barney?? (he was found in a barn)

Flash (you know how Flash Gordon has that lightening bolt on his chest, kind of like a golden stripe on a kitty)

CB (after my favorite blogging soldier)

Good luck! We have three cats: Squeaker, because of her squeaky meow; Mama Cat, because she had kittens on her first heat, and Claire, because we found her at the Clairmont County Fair.
Names are tricky, aren't they?

Spoodles

How about 'Red'. Did someone suggest that already? Wow. It is scary to be as imaginative as me! :)

How about Butterscotch? Of course, if you like Butterscotch you might get hungry every time you look at him.

Creamsicle? I know the color is a little off, but he is kind of swirly.

Good luck!

I cannot resist a cat naming contest. However after reading all the suggested names sirena picked the one I would offer.

Dusty.

We had an orange tabby like yours. He was Dusty. He was THE best cat ever (besides my harley). He loved everyone, family, friends, neighbors, kids, adults, you name it. Never was there a friendlier cat. It would be a good thing to have your kitty named after him.

Burnt Sienna? (As in the Crayon color) You could call him BS for short. OK... maybe not. John needs to hurry up and step up to the plate and name that cat!

Posted by: Boudicca at November 21, 2004 10:15 AM

Okay, some more names:

Cajun Spice

Pumpkin

Georgio Di Kitty

Neopolitian (you could call him Neo for short)

Awright, I'll try to act grown-up and sober this time:
Consult with the kitty. Try out all suggested names on him. Try out nonsense syllables on him. You seem to be an empathic person, I betcha you can tell when he responds.

Meester... as in "Meester Seņor Don Kitty-Cat."

Lazarus, or maybe Lazarus Long (a redhead)?

Timex? (takes a licking, and keeps on ticking....)
