Undecided voters

The polls indicate there are still enough undecided voters to make a difference in the election.
Here are the (completely unscientific) Top Ten Reasons why a voter would still be undecided:

1. They want to be sure that they vote for the winner so they are waiting until they hear about the Florida Exit Polls.

2. They want to get as much blog traffic as possible by teasing people into trying to convince them to vote one way or another.

3. They really plan on voting for Ralph Nader, but are too embarrassed to admit it to pollsters.

4. They are not really sure where they are supposed to vote, much less who they should vote for.

5. They are going to vote for Kerry, but are embarrassed to tell the pollster.

6. They are going to write in a vote for themselves, but are embarrassed to tell the pollster.

7. They are probably not going to get around to voting at all, but are embarrassed to tell the pollster.

8. They are simply not going to tell a stranger on the phone diddly squat but are really going to vote for Bush.

9. They are going to vote for the Libertarian candidate, but are too embarrassed to tell the pollster.

10. They are total idiots if they really don't know who the hell they are going to vote for in 5 days and probably should not be voting anyway!!!

Regrettably, there are way way too many Americans in group 10.

Agreed. One other type of undecided voter I've run across: people who strongly prefer the Democratic party platform but cannot stand John Kerry. There are too few of those folks from what I can see. Way too many Democrats *should* be unwilling to touch Kerry with a ten-foot pole after everything we've seen this election season.
