Work
Have to run off to work now. The company I work for does reward me for all the time and travel I put in. I got promoted up another rung on the ladder.
Don't know what kind of raise I'll get with it yet, but past raises have been ... generous.
Of course, when you go up a level, they expect more from you, naturally. So I am going to try to work smarter, not longer.

And I am ready to be... kept.

So does this mean you will be traveling less?

No, I'll be traveling probably as much as always!

Thanks, everyone!
What do I do? Oh, kind of arcane technology stuff that no one has ever heard of. The company I work for (which shall remain nameless) is really a leader in its field of medical technology.
I actually don't deal directly with what the company makes, but I help our clients manage that extremely complex technology and monitor it with system management products, and with capacity planning, etc.
My boss is recommending me for a program (I have no huge hopes of getting into it, I'm probably among the top 15 oldest people at this company which is full of 20 and 30 somethings) - this program will rotate me through positions all through the company for probably a two year period and when I'm done, I'll have a much better understanding of everything we do and be more valuable to the company and to the clients.
So, I'm excited about that opportunity. If I get it.
