Some Europeans think they should vote in US Elections

I completely missed this, but Wacky Hermit has some good commentary on this knuckhead - no, let me call him a nincompoop (thanks for reminding me of this word, Ambra), Jonathon Freedland, who thinks that Americans are incapable of making the *right* decision.

So perhaps it's time to make a modest proposal. If everyone in the world will be affected by this election, shouldn't everyone in the world have a vote? Despite Bob Dole, shouldn't the men who want to be president win the support of Liverpool and Leipzig as well as Louisville and Lexington

And Euros call Americans arrogant?

It would not surprise me if Kerry and Company agreed with that sentiment.

Holy Cow!!!

Of course they'd agree - it's the only way they can win! :)

Please! All I have to say is, hundreds of years ago when the "British Empire" ruled most of the world, I am sure that would not have been their view. I am sure the poor people in India would not see it this way.

The writer talks about how we "replaced a dictator for a military occupation and unspeakable violence...." What did he think Saddam was doing before we got there, handing out lollipops and kissing babies.

Let's get back to those poor people of India in the time of British rule and occupation. I believe there was a bit of a civil war going on then with signifncantly more violence and death than we have in Iraq today.

Point is, when they had the power and ruled the world, their actions were justified in their minds I suppose. But now that the US has the power, everyone wants a say.
