Blog Comments
I hereby announce that I am *not* going to register with any more blogs anywhere just so I can make a comment.
I have already registered at probably 15 blogs, and it is a royal pain in the ass to do so. I can't always keep the same login and password on all these places, and it's just become totally ridiculous.
I'm sure those bloggers won't miss my comments, anyway.
I will probably end up posting more and linking to those blogs (which of course helps them on the TTLB Ecosystem - more links) or just stop going to those blogs altogether.
I can understand bloggers with no comments at all, like Glenn Reynolds or Rachel Lucas - they just don't want to bother with them.
But if you are going to have comments you do have to put up with protecting yourself against comment spam, and a few other pain in the ass things (John and I manage to do this), but I do not believe you should inconvenience your readers by forcing them to register just to give their opinion when you are virtually asking for their opinion.
If everyone in the Blogosphere used the same registration, well, that might maybe be okay with me, at least I'd only have to remember one user name and password, but on the whole, I think of it as being as annoying as the idea that I should register my guns.

I know what you mean! I have several blogs I read that use Blogger and I just don't want to bother registering in order to leave a comment. Too much of a hassle.

At least with the blogspotted ones, a single log-in works for all the blogs.

Well that (what John said) and with blogger you can post anonymously. I've told my family not to register, just post anonymously and put initials at the end of the comment so I know it's them. I actually have a lot of commenters that do that.

Boudicca,
Since John and I started out with Blogger, we have one login between us, so that's no biggie, I'm annoyed at all the people with their own special superduper registrations.
I'm against comment spam, too, but the time it takes to register on some of those blogs is time I don't want to spend on stupid stuff!

Oh I did notice some of these super registrations. Kind of like an armed fortress!
