Wow
The company I work for, which must remain nameless, is so pleased with all of our hard work that they are giving eveyone in the company a free day off - a Friday in August, yet. We don't have to use a personal day or vacation - it's just a thank you.
How cool.
They expect a lot from us, and they pay us well, and apparently, they really appreciate us.
I wish everyone could work for a company that demands much but gives much in return.

I work for a very small business and I really like it. I'm always working too much, but it is pretty flexible in a lot of ways. Even better, I work from home (not for everyone, but I've been doing it for close to 10 years now, so it seems good to me) which means I tend to have strange hours that I use to get things done.
I'm glad to hear you're getting an extra day! We have no set holidays or vacation. If I need a day off, I tell everyone I'm going to be gone. A couple of other people can do some of the easier things.
I don't take extra days often though, cause the client goes into panic mode if I'm not going to be there for a day and gives me 5 extra days work to get done before I leave... Sheesh! LOL.

Hm. I knew an outfit like that. They'd give us an extra long lunch when they wanted to send drug dogs through the facility or search our desks.
