Heading back home today
Yesterday ended up being another pretty long day, but at least we got to bed before midnight.
Penn and Teller was probably a lot better than I realized because I was so tired, that I frankly was thinking too slowly to get all the jokes. I was also so tired that I was bored by the show, which is too bad considering how much it cost!
It was just my luck that there was a Cigar convention here in Vegas this week. I really hate cigars. They smell lots worse than anything I can think of and they give me headaches. They were everywhere this week. Most restaurants and casinos just reeked of the nasty phallic nicotine generators. Sorry to those of you out there who think that cigar smoking is cool and manly and sophisticated, but you all need to have your heads examined!
John and I noticed that the casinos no longer use money in the slot machines. You can put money in, but if you cash out, you get a fricking voucher. So there are no old ladies carrying around huge tubs of quarters or nickels - now they just have a voucher. Just doesn't seem like fun without seeing all those quarters go clink clink clink into the tray.
Another thing, Vegas has really lowered the volume on the slot machines. They have even turned the volume off of some slot machines - usually the ones in the middle of a row of them.
I don't know if my observations are accurate, and they are certainly not scientific, but it seems that this year there are a lot fewer people playing slots - could it be because the coins don't clink and the machines don't make appropriate noises? John thinks that maybe the casinos did this to cut back on personnel - makes sense - they don't need change people anymore because there is no change. And .. I'm sure their repair costs go down if they turn off sound, because they don't have to fix the sound that is broken.
Just a few observations.
By the way, I am blogging nekkid right now - seemed important to tell you that.
