Bad Hair
Michele was unfortunate enough to get one of those awful bad haircuts and is having a really Bad Hair Day.
I feel for Michele, because not only have I had many a Bad Hair Day, but I would even go so far as to say that I have had a Bad Hair Life. It has not improved with age.
Now, I have seen pictures of Michele on her blog, and she has thick, luxurious dark hair. I am willing to bet that a good hair day for me would be a bad hair day for her.
I was born with baby fine hair. It is very straight, very fine and I don't have a lot of it. No bald spots, thank God, but it just doesn't do much.
People used to tell me that once I went gray, my hair would be thicker.
I fart in their general direction.
My hair has been nearly completely gray since I was about 32, and it has never thickened. I have it professionally colored these days, and it looks good for approximately 8 hours after Lyndsay does her magic and makes it kinda poufy and pretty. But it is still lousy hair.
It only looks good when covered by a big floppy hat. But that's not terribly professional looking when I'm traveling, so I just have learned to try to live with my bad hair. But I still hate it.
So I have complete empathy with anyone having a bad hair day. I know how you feel.

Why is it that men just don't understand what a "bad hair day" really means?
I think Michele does a very good job at explaining it.
With all the humidity Michigan has been having the last couple weeks my permed hair has become a giant friz ball.

My daughter has hair like yours, Beth and I feel for her. Of course, at her age she can put a couple of pink streaks in it and she feels like a million dollars.
The thickness of my hair is both a blessing and a curse. For instance, when I get a short haircut like I did this week, I end up with a mullet. Which is not A Good Thing.
Oh, and I've been going gray since about 30. Not complete yet, but getting there.

Whereas my hair, is thick and a pain in the ass.
It really *is* wasted on me. If I could give it to Beth, I would.

My hair is also baby fine and straight as uncooked vermicelli; a bane to every attempt at adornment.
I permed it once about 25 years ago in a vain cry for help. I'll have to post that picture one day - I looked like a poodle that had just stuck its tongue in an electric outlet.
NOT a pretty sight. ;)

I am so ready for bald to be in style for women. My sister got blessed with thick beautiful hair and she keeps telling me the trick to all hair is good hair product. Well, I'm calling BS on her. I've now spent more money than I will ever fess up to on hair products and it still looks like crap. I've got product to make it thick, not frizz, shine, you name it, I own it. And not cheap stuff either, but salon stuff. High end Salon stuff. I'm learning to deal and fighting the urge to shave it all off. My husband would have a heart attack if I did that. I need him around. ;-)

I would shave mine off in a second if I thought that people wouldn't think I had just undergone chemo!
I had a perm from hell years ago too - not only did I look like a poodle, but my natural hair color faded out, so the girl decided to put some color back in and it ended up fire engine red. I was totally embarrassed, so she bleached out the red - and half my hair fell out. I still have a chemical burn scar on the nape of my neck.
I actually saw an attorney over this one, and the salon ( a very pricey one at the time) settled with me very quickly after a dermatoligist sent them his review of my hair - not for tons of money, mind you, I just wanted my money back and a little more, and I got about $800 - not worth the hair distress!!
I actuall

My wee wifey has dead straight baby fine hair. She never suffers a bad hair day.
I do. I have coarse, wavy hair, and when the humidity gets at it, every strand broken off short of the elastic frizzes out. I never wear it loose. It reaches to my elbows and tangles if I so much as walk around.

Triticale,
you might try using a good conditioner or heat treatment on your hair to make it behave better.
I still wish I had your hair problem instead of mine!
