Note to people who make obscene comments

I think that allowing comments here is important. I don't spend a lot of time reading blogs without the option to comment (sorry, Glenn). I love to hear from people.

But ...

if you add a comment here that is full of the 'F' word and not much else, your comment will be deleted. An occasional f word for emphasis is okay, but when every 3rd word is a F..k or a b...h, you just are not saying anything worth keeping. So, I deleted an extremely rude comment to my rant about that Englishman and I have banned the IP from this person - who scares me a little, actually. 63.187.225.40

Comments

Of course, now enquiring minds want to know...

And how come I never get those loons? I'm jealous!

I've thankfully only had to ban about 5 IP's. Differing opinions are welcome, but I hate someone throwing up all over the comments. That's uncalled for.
And of course spam goes. Immediately. ;)

...and I was going to say... [Where IS MY MIND?]

Yes, I appreciate being able to make comments! If I can't comment I feel like I'm reading a book, not a blog, not a place where we can all interact.
So, thanks for keeping your comments!! :D
And thank you also for posting offending IP addys.... ;)

Meant to comment on this last night, and got sidetracked. *G* As far as I'm concerned, it's comments that make blogs what they are. I don't mind the really heavily trafficked sites not having them. For Blogs like Glenn's and Volokh I read to get information - they always have good links to things I wouldn't have heard about otherwise. LGF is good, but the comments are overwhelming.

There is always someone out there who gets their kicks by spitting out filth. I have no problem with banning anyone at all. But because I started with a bunch of IP's to ban (via Blackfive) I haven't run across a problem yet. It's the clean up that's a pain.
