A Travel Tip from Beth

Avoid traveling the week after Valentine's Day. Chances are your room will require 'deep cleaning'.

It was somewhat embarrassing to tell the desk clerk of my complaint. I told her that I had to cover all the chairs with towels before I dared sit on them.

She said, "oh, darn, we must have missed your room after Valentine's Day."

It is being deep cleaned even as I write.

I wanted to write something clever and witty about this, but I'm too busy squealing "Ewwww! Ewwww!"
and looking for the Lysol spray.
Good stars, Beth.....ewwwwww. Poor girl!

LeeAnn - when I think about it, I really shudder. Whoever had my room was very - prolific?

Urk. Ack. Gaaaack. You didn't discover this until *after* our call last night, eh?

EEEWWWWW.... Did you have one of those ultraviolet lights thingies or was it just THAT obvious??? [GAK!]

I always travel with clorox wipes, 2 cans of Lysol and my own sleeping bag. I ditch the bedspread and stretch the bag out on top of the sheets [because I figure they wash those once in a while] where I can crawl into the bag at night.

Yes, I'm strange.

Pam, It was that obvious. I might start doing the same thing you do. Ick ick ick ick ick.
No, John, I failed to mention it to you last night, as I already had the towels draping the chairs. I guess I coulda mentioned it.

Posted by: beth at February 17, 2004 10:30 AM

It's okay, sweetie - since you hadn't mentioned it I had a mental image of you discovered after we talked - too late, in other words!

Whew! A bullet dodged, so to speak.

Must be like a spill of diesel fuel; only different, I guess.

Cheers

I'm guessing, all things considered, diesel smells better.

Ya know...if there is even a small amount of blood on a sidewalk, they send out a biohazards crew. Seems to me your room, and possibly the entire facility should undergo a 'controlled burn' and a rebuild.

I hope they at least emptied the garbage cans..EWWWW!

The scary thing is when they don't clean your room well and you don't notice. Which is why I'm always exceedingly paranoid of any hotel room. Yuk.

Thanks for the heads up, Beth. ; )

I've always assumed that's what people do in hotel rooms anyway.

The only place I'll sit undressed is on the sheets. Everything else is suspect.

OMG!!!! EEEEWWWWWW!!! Let me add mine Yucks to the list! How awful! The fact that they admit to NOT cleaning the room is even worse! I think they should give you a night free for that one!
