I had the best dinner last night

The Steak House at the Reno Hilton is superb. I had Lobster and Black Tiger Prawn Thermidor and French Onion Soup. Sometimes, I splurge when I'm traveling. It was yummy, I didn't overeat, and the service was impeccable.

But then, I woke up a few hours ago itching like crazy. I have several rashes on my arms, legs, boobs. Ugh. I must have an allergy of some sort to something I ate last night! I'm trying to figure out if I should try to find some benadryl in the gift shop, or just drink lots of water and see if it goes away.

I will not be a happy camper if I have developed an allergy to lobster!

I hope you found the Benedryl. Are you ok now??

Oh, gosh- I took a shower, got out, and it is worse! The gift shop does not open until 7:00. The spots seem too little to be hives, I don't know!

I may have to visit the emergency room at the hospital I'm working at if this doesn't get better soon!

Yepper - don't be like me and wait too long!

And Save The Boobs!

actually, the rash is subsiding now. I have really sensitive skin, and if I scratch it when it itches, it makes rashes a lot worse.

That's good - as long as we STB!

Are you allergic to shellfish? Could have been the prawns...
Hope you're feeling better!!

Still itchy. I hope I'm not allergic to prawns. Shrimp is one of my favorite foods.

Hmmm. Maybe it was just too much at once. Next time you have any type of shell fish, just go easy and see if you still get the rash.

I know it's really a bummer when you can't eat the foods you love! Hope it was just a fluke or maybe something else they had in the soup you didn't know about.

I've never been in a position to indulge when on out of town contracts, but I've occasionally managed to eat well. When I did the Fairway bank job, I packed energy bars and hunter sausage, and then used my per diem to eat some of the famous Kansas City barbecue and also southwestern at a grill at the Mission Mall.

The other trip I did on this project was a bank in Macon, Missourah, and I stayed down the road a piece in Moberley. There was no fine dining to be found. Moberley had two Chinese buffets. One offered a selection of nicely seasoned standards and the other turned out to be what we call a greasy chopstick (a la greasy spoon as a term for cheap eatery). I had one meal at the Country Kitchen, but after watching Gramma at the next table enjoy sausage gravy on her pancakes I reverted to my practice of dining mostly on cold groceries in my motel room.

On the cellular contract I was working a year ago, we occasionally had to expense meals when away overnight, but this was again in small towns, in Wisconsin, and sustanence was all we sought. The only memorable gourmet note from that project was the sign on a Culvers (the reason Wisconsinites are obese - frozen custard and butterburgers) offering flavors: Strawberry - Chocolate - Tuna.

Teresa - Hope you are right and it was a fluke!

Triticale - I think I know the grill you are talking about. They had some pretty good margaritas. Which barbeque joint in KC did you like the best?

Bank job in MissourEEE? I think that one made the news.
