Detroit is cold

cold and gray and covered with snow. Bone chilling cold. Wish I had brought my silk long underwear cold.
People are nice, very nice - they have to be, or they would never thaw out.
I am very tired. I'll try again in the morning.

Oh, and Helen got the job. Smile for her, everyone!

I've lived in Chicago for 23 years and I STILL can't get used to the really really cold parts of winter. It's about 5 degrees outside now and I can feel the cold waves coming at me from the window next to my desk. *sigh*

Yes I saw that Helen had gotten her job - it's wonderful news *g*

Thanks, guys! :)

And I can relate, Beth-it's minus ten here, windy, snowing, and I vow to not leave the house today!

You live near Detroit too? Interesting.

We'll have to remember to invite you to the summer blog-bash. ;-)

No, I live in Leavenworth, Dean, but I am here in Detroit for business this week.
I swear, the temperature is not much different than at home - but it feels colder.

Beth:

Where are you staying? Maybe we can get a drink with ya?

Hi, Rosemary, I'm staying at the Embassy Suites, Southland. That would be nifty, if you have time.

Once upon a time I worked a contract in Fairway (Shawnee Mission area) which put me a hop skip and jump away with a Sunday free. Probably won't happen again. The bank whose computers I was upgrading had been bought by a Milwaukee bank; they in turn have been bought up by a bank from elsewhere and now techs from there would get the gig.
