At least I got one thing done today!
I got it in my head that I'd like to start this year out fresh, anew, clean, and guilt free.
Today, I had to run some errands - I'm trying to catch up on the pile of laundry in the basement, and I ran out of laundry detergent. I drove up to Wal-Mart, yes, I know, Wal-Mart is bad, evil Zoot. And after making my laundry soap selection, I wandered into the men's underwear department. I bought 18 pairs of underpants and 18 undershirts for John.
I drove home, dumped everything in his underpants drawer into the trash and put all those nice, pristine, white underthings into it.
I'm so proud of myself. The cashier at Wal-Mart said she didn't have the nerve to do it to her husband. But John is wonderful, and so far doesn't mind that I threw out all his old underwear for new, clean, fresh, white ones.

Omigod! I've been violated! The tighty-whities that I've developed a deep, personal, somewhat, well, spotty relationship with are gone!
Replaced by interlopers! Clean interlopers! Now I'll spend hours in the bathroom trying not to get any, well, you know, 'spots', on 'em.
The horror! The horror!
Oh well, at least they weren't gay boxers.
But now there are no taboo subjects I can blog on Beth!

Instead of starting the new year off right I tend to rebel; I make no resolutions, no promises. We did venture out of the house to buy outrageously priced footwear, showed our support for the beef industry by eating at Longhorn, bought a dozen donuts (which I only eat once a year) and rented some movies. A full day. :)

Well, DobbyJohn didn't know about the clothes until after he put on the second coat of paint. I have the honor of painting the woodwork - first a basecoat, then the color - it will take me all weekend!

I tried the sock trick last year, but it didn't work. Honestly, I got John all black socks - same brand, but within 2 weeks, none of them matched!
