Another break - and a question

I am a mess, this is tedious as hell, but it will look gorgeous when done. Unfortunately, this is only the hallway and front entry. Until today, I did not realize that there are 10 fricking doorways in our hall/entry. I have to paint all the trim. I'm about 1/3rd thru. I will be up until 3 am to finish.

Anyway, while I'm painting, I would like your best Margarita Recipes. I'm in the mood for something different.

Or, Sazerac - a good recipe for that would be tres cool!

yeah - what I want to know is, does anyone have a Margarita recipe that doesn't use bottled mix? I was gonna look it up on the net. Had some frozen M's on New Year's Eve, but bottled mix always tastes metalic to me (even with the booze in it)

Teresa, we never used the bottled mix. We use either frozen lime aid or sugar free lemonade -

Beth and Teresa... for the best margarita you have ever tasted... go over to Madfish Willie's and check out The Ultimate Margarita recipe... it's in the sidebar under The Art of Drinking section. Cheers!

I stopped drinking margaritas when I discovered the Mexican martini, a drink that I've only found in bars in Austin so far. The recipe is:

Mexican Martini - In a shaker, over ice put in 6 ounces of good tequila, 2 ounces Cointreau (you may substitute Triple Sec), freshly squeezed lime juice from one lime (or use a sweet & sour mixer if you don't have limes or prefer sweeter drinks, concentrated lime juice from a bottle also works), a splash of olive juice. Salt the rim of your martini glasses and garnish with a sword of green olives. Makes 3 to 4 regular sized martinis.

Be careful with this recipe. It only takes a few to put the hammer on amateur drinkers, and if your tequila is not 100% agave, you'll feel it the next morning!!!
