One must wonder about the sanity of some of these folks!
Here is one of the comments from Howard Dean's Blog for America
"Now more than ever we need Dean as President. He would pardon Saddam, the right thing to do." Posted by Freda Sorce at December 14, 2003 12:24 PM
I bet this makes Howard Dean proud, that he has such supporters!
Update: Another Dean supporter has this to say:
Look- this is great news for us as well. The capture of Saddam means that the resistance can take on a nationalist image. In order for us to win, the Iraqi people must work to defeat the imperialist aggressor mecenaries which we have sent to their country.Let them send home one hundred thousand of our imperailists dead- then the American people will know never to trust a Republican again.

Pardon Saddam? PARDON him???????
I don't care WHAT anyone feels about the war, but Saddam has done for the past 20 years is beyond any pardoning by the human race.
Where have these people been keeping their heads?

Because we have an all volunteer military, its members are mercenaries. You think this person would be any happier if we were fighting this war with conscripts?

Trit - [come to my house and say that to my face. I'll kick your ass up and down the fucking street.]
UPDATE: Oops. Misunderstanding. Lack of emoticons on Triticale's part and my satire meter was broken.
Check the definition of mercenary. I don't f*cking fit it and I'm have absof*ckinglutely no sense of humor about it anymore. (This is STILL true)
I was/am neither motivated by money (I make more now than I did then) and I sure as hell didn't sign on to a g*ddamn foreign army.
If you were trying to be tongue-in-cheek, I'll cut ya some slack. If not - ARGGHHH!
UPDATE: In the words of Emily Latella: "Never mind." I'll clear the target zone before I open fire next time - especially when their are friendlys in the area. My bad.

John is right. When I was in the Army Reserve, I was not a mercenary. Generally, when I think of mercenaries, I think of Soldier of Fortune - guys who make a whole lot of money hiring themselves out to other armies. It ain't so here in this United States. Trust me, I'm married to a retired soldier - no Soldier of Fortune -
the soldiers I know love the USA enough to make being a soldier their life's work, and to use the term 'mercenary' really impugns their integrity and their honor.

I expressed myself badly and meant no insult. Refer back to the blockquote in the post I was commenting on. Others than myself, people with whom I meant to disagree, used the phrase imperialist aggressor mecenaries and I took one word from that to respond. Okay? I shall be more carefull to seperate my own position from that which I am responding to in the future.

Emoticons emoticons emoticons!
Okay, all is forgiven.
Like I said - I have absolutely no sense of humor about that any more.
