Buying stuff

I like buying stuff on the Internet. I can shop at my leisure and get reviews on stuff and check prices. I have, however, been something of a sucker when it comes to those club things - you know what I mean. Book of the month, Cookbook of the Month, Wine of the Month, Cheese of the Month, Flower of the Month - hmm, I wonder if there is a Chocolate of the Month Club?

Anyway, my experience has been that I'll join one of these clubs with the intention of just getting the special deal, but I end up in the club forever.

I never get around to canceling anything.

That's why I have about 100 cookbooks. Everytime another one is delivered, that I forgot to go on line to tell them I don't want it. I think," I have to write them a letter and cancel this", but then I see how many points I have that I can buy other cookbooks with, and I think, "well, heck. I should use these up first, then I'll cancel" and then I'll find something really cool - usually a gadget, but the points don't apply to gadgets, but I get it anyway and before I know it, another cookbook is at the door because I once again forgot to log into the website and check the "don't send me anything this month or next month" buttons.

Gah.

Anyway, I am ready to buy some of this Bare Minerals Makeup. The Ladies of the Cotillion all concur that it is wonderful stuff.

This is my concern, though - I like the kit that has everything you could possibly want, but that fine print - - - I don't want to join a club. If you order the kit, they automatically enroll you in this makeup club. Gad, I don't wear makeup at all right now - I don't want to be stuck getting it for the rest of my life!

Yes, I know, you can cancel anytime.

But, remember, I never get around to canceling anything! Ever. Well, hardly ever.

So, I sit here and stew - to buy or not to buy - to get the really neat deal or to suck it up and pay full price for everything to avoid being sucked into yet another club.

And where is there a Chocolate Club I can sign up for???
